Thomson & Granville invited to Number 10!

JT & Sas were invited by the now former Prime Minister to attend a reception for the UEFA Women’s EURO 2022 on Friday 8th July. The event was being hosted to celebrate Equality, Diversity and Inclusion role models in women’s football

JT’s work for the LGBTQ+ football community and Sas’ achievements as a disability footballer and coach were highlighted by the FA and both were asked to attend on behalf of Brighton Seagals FC.

Due to the resignation of the PM, the event has  been cancelled, but the invitation serves as a great reminder that our fantastic club is helping create role models.

JT commented “Creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ people to play football is something that has been close to my heart for the last 6 years. I’m proud that my work has been recognised by the FA and that they felt it worthy of such an invite! It’s also incredible to see Sas recognised as a person with a disability who has broken down barriers to play in mainstream football and also coach in our local community.”

Sas added “I was over the moon and so excited to be invited!”

The pair will be standing by to see if the next PM extends an invite…
