Kick it Out Equality Charter club status retained!

Brighton Seagals have retained their Kick It Out Equality Charter status for a second year, showing the club’s commitment to creating a more inclusive game. In signing up to the charter, we make a promise to promote equality and take active steps to tackle discrimination.

Kick It Out is English football’s equality and inclusion organisation. Working throughout the football, educational and community sectors to challenge discrimination, encourage inclusive practices and campaign for positive change, Kick It Out is at the heart of the fight against discrimination for everyone who plays, watches or works in football.

Equality Lead, Holly Lewis, commented:

“It was great to meet and receive Equality Charter training from Tajean at Kick it out. He informed me of the protected characteristics and the top forms of discrimination within football. The training provided me with instruction on what to do with we encounter discrimination of any kind and provided me with the guidance on how to report. Tajean also reminded me of the importance to ensure all club members know how to repot discrimination and practical tips such as informing the ref, passing details to the County FA and always checking on the victim.

Brighton Seagals FC is an inclusive team and reapplying to become a Kick it Out Equality Chartered club was really important for us. This ensures that all our players and supporters know our stance on discrimination within football and wider society. However, it is important to us as a club that we also take action to show we stand against all forms of discrimination”
